Spencer Klotz Spencer Klotz Forward Northfield | 2022 State MN | Northfield
We have covered Spencer Klotz Spencer Klotz Forward Northfield | 2022 State MN his whole career, and he has had such a great career. Specifically finishing his senior season with 91 points makes him more than deserving to be on this list. He is a player I see in the future going and playing D1 with a school like Mankato. He will need to use a couple of years in juniors first to get accustomed to the tougher competition. Honestly think he’s one of the best seniors in the state. Klotz led Northfield to the section final, in which they fell short in. Great career, as he finished with just under 200 total points.
Parker Mitchell Parker Mitchell 5'10" | Forward Mora/Milaca | 2022 State MN – Mora/Milaca
Huge breakout season for Mitchell. He helped put Mora/Milaca on his back and put them on the map. Parker Mitchell Parker Mitchell 5'10" | Forward Mora/Milaca | 2022 State MN is the number one goal scorer in the state, as he had 55 total goals this season. This is a player that can make it onto a college roster due to his scoring alone, but it might take a few years in juniors. Very surprising senior year and while he doesn’t play in the best competition he really flourished.
Hayden Johnson Hayden Johnson 6'0" | Forward Little Falls | 2022 State MN – Little Falls
Hayden Johnson Hayden Johnson 6'0" | Forward Little Falls | 2022 State MN went from 30 points in his junior season, to 75 in his senior season. That jump-in point production has him featured on this list. He played in the NA3HL before the season, and that is likely where he will have to play juniors. Johnson had his Little Falls team playing very well at the start of the season before they failed at the end of the year. Very good player and a great third team member.
Weston Knox Weston Knox 5'9" | Defense Andover | 2022 State MN – Andover
Recent state champ Weston Knox Weston Knox 5'9" | Defense Andover | 2022 State MN is one of the more underrated players from this senior class. Weston finished his senior season with 6 goals and 25 assists for 31 total points. He most recently made a huge commitment to D1 Air Force Academy. He is a great skater, playmaker, and defender. Played a huge part in the Huskies’ state tourney win. Air Force is getting a steal.
Wyatt Wurst Wyatt Wurst 6'3" | Defense Edina | 2022 State MN | Edina
Wyatt Wurst Wyatt Wurst 6'3" | Defense Edina | 2022 State MN wasn’t talked about as much as he should have this season. He is an amazing defensive defenseman, that still finds the scoresheet at times. He finished with 6 goals and 15 assists; so still real respectable. He is one of the best defensive defensemen in the state, and that’s the main reason he’s on this list. Wurst is playing in the NAHL with the Norseman where he hopes to pick up a D1 scholarship. If he played how he did in high school in juniors.. he should have no problem.
Austin Brauns Austin Brauns 5'10" | Goalie Andover | 2022 MN | Andover
The state title goaltender had a huge season this year for the Huskies. He kept them in a lot of games and his bend don’t break mentality really net some wins for his team. This was Brauns’ first season starting in varsity, and he maintained to win a state title. He did more than “maintained”, as he had a GAA of 1.78 a save percentage of .929, and a record of 22-5-1. What a year for Brauns, and he might even be underrated a bit on this list. Good player that should see opportunities come his way soon.
