#1 Cam Briere Cam Briere 5'11" | Forward Stillwater | 2023 State MN | 5’11 Goalie | Warroad | #19 overall ’23
Hamptomn Slukynsky is ranked as our #1 goalie in this class. He has really had a video game stat type season, as he is 15-0 and has a GAA of .99 with a save percentage of .944. Slukysnsky also has a phenomenal 8 shutouts on this season. Slukysnsky is having a huge breakout year this season, as he wasn’t the true started last year fro Warroad. Hampton had a very elite offseason at the high school elite league, as he had a .923 save percentage. As I am writing this article, Slukysnky has only allowed one goal through two periods against the very potent Hermantown offense. This is the for sure top junior in the state, he is proving that this night.
#2 Aidan Willis Aidan Willis 5'11" | Forward Lakeville South | 2023 State MN | 5’11 Goalie | Wayzata | #25 overall ’23
Aidan Willis Aidan Willis 5'11" | Forward Lakeville South | 2023 State MN from Wayzata is our #2 ranked goalie in the state. Ingemann is currently having a solid season for the Trojans, as he has a save percentage of .915 and a GAA of 1.89. Last year in his sophomore season, he had a GAA of 2.46 and a save percentage of .905. Will really impressed last year in the section tourney and as well as the first 2 periods of the Lakeville South game. Ingemann might have the most future potential out of any of these goalies, as he plays against the top competition in the state. Ingemann is definitely improving since his great sophomore campaign.
#3 Reese Shaw Reese Shaw 6'2" | Forward Gentry Academy | 2023 State MN | 6’3 Goalie | Stillwater | #31 overall ’23
Reese Shaw Reese Shaw 6'2" | Forward Gentry Academy | 2023 State MN is having a huge breakout year for Stillwater. Anderson wasn’t even the starter last season for the Ponies. In his 7 games played in his sophomore season he had a GAA of 2.38 and a save percentage of .894. This year in 13 games played so far is 1.97 GAA and .926 save percentage. That is a huge step up from his sophomore season and is a reason he is ranked this high after being unranked last year. We made an article of the best breakout players so far this year, and Anderson was one of those couple players noticed. Anderson keeps the ponies in a lot of games and is one to watch going forward.
#4 Jack Hochsprung Jack Hochsprung 6'0" | Goalie Apple Valley | 2023 State MN | 6’0 Goalie | Lakeville South | #36 overall ’23
Jack Hochsprung Jack Hochsprung 6'0" | Goalie Apple Valley | 2023 State MN has been having an amazing first year in varsity. Last year, Jack was in junior varsity for the Cougars. In his first year in varsity, Hochsprung has really impressed. In 9 games so far this season, he has a save percentage of .915 and a GAA of 1.89. Very impressive stuff for Hochsprung, as he instantly made himself a junior goalie to watch in just 9 games. Not too much data yet on him, but the little data we have is very eye opening. Have not yet watched him live, but will likely do this season still.
#5 Myles Gunderson Myles Gunderson 5'11" | Goalie Grand Rapids | 2023 State MN | 5’11 Goalie | Grand Rapids | #43 overall ’23
Myles Gunderson Myles Gunderson 5'11" | Goalie Grand Rapids | 2023 State MN is another goalie that has came on strong in the first few months as a starter. These goalies all have one thing in common. They really didn’t play much last year as they were mostly backups, they waited their turn and were ready; now they are getting their chance. Gunderson fits that prototype, as he sat behind a very solid senior goalie last year. This offseason without playing much in high school, only starting one game- Myles played in the HS elite league. He had a solid save percentage of .900. This year he is really impressing, as he had a GAA of 1.86 and a save percentage of .908 in his 15 games played.
