Game Recap/3 Stars of the Night- November 30th
Last night in BHS, there were not any real upsets, but the game of the night was when Benilde beat Hill Murray. This was a back and forth game where Benilde was up a couple of goals at the start, then Hill Murray started to come back- Benilde ends up winning 5-3. CDH gets back on track with a win over a top A team in Mahtomedi. Chaska just barely fends off their rival, in Chanhassen as they take a 3-2 win. Blaine takes Lakeville South down to the wire, but 3 late goals lead the cougars to a 6-3 win. East Grand Forks gets taken to OT against Detroit Lakes. STMA over Blake 5-0 is the surprise of the night.
Now we get into the 3 BHS stars of the night
#1 Jaksen Panzer | East Grand Forks | Junior Forward
Jaksen Panzer is our Prep Hockey number one star of the night. East Grand Forks takes a 5-4 win in OT last night, and Panzer was the number one reason for that win. Panzer finished the night with 4 goals and 1 assist. The North Dakota commit is one of the top players in that state, and this is likely his last season in high school. Panzer is off to a fast start, and will likely finish the season amongst the top in the state for points when all is said and done.
#2 Nick Blood | Holy Family | Senior Forward
Nick Blood is one of the more underrated players in high school hockey; he has started his senior season with a bang. Blood lead his team to a 5-2 victory over a very respectable Rochester Mayo team last night. Blood is our second start because he had 4 points last night with 2 goals and 2 assists. Blood is up to 6 points on the year and is a player to watch going forward.
#3 Austin Dietrich | STMA | Senior Goalie
STMA gets a very surprising win 5-0 over the Blake team that is supposed to be solid. Dietrich shut that solid Blake team down last night facing 19 shots and allowing no goals. Dietrich is a player to watch this year, his first game of the season and the way he performed is eye-opening.
