Lucas Hand had a very strong week for the orioles. The first game was a win vs Bloomington Jefferson, and Hand dropped 5 points (3 G, 2 A). The next game was against a tough loss to rival in Benilde St. Margarets, but Hand made the game a lot closer by having 3 points in that game (1 G, 2 A). Lucas Hand is a player that we are watching out for in the future; he is a scoring machine and is featured on our class of 2021 top 70 players releasing here very soon.
2. Chris Kernan | Senior | Forward | Maple Grove High School
Chris Kernan had one of the best weeks so far if not the best week of the season. Chris had 9 points this week with a pretty even split of 5 goals and 4 assists. Chris is silently putting up a really good season for the Maple Grove team that is absolutely filled with star power. Kernan also averages an astonishing 2.89 points per game. Look for him to pick up college interest as this team goes very far in the tourney.
3. Garron Opsahl | Sophomore | Goalie | Hermantown
Garron Opsahl stood up to the challenge against some pretty tough teams for Hermantown this past week. Opsahl with the help of his strong Hermantown Defense, held the historically tough ’AA’ Duluth East team to just one goal- he had 14 saves on 15 shots that game. The next game his team took on one of the top teams in ’AA’ and he also had a really solid game allowing 3 goals on 27 shots against a very tough team. Garron is 8-0 this season with a really good goal against average of 1.05. Garron is one of the top goalies in the state, despite being just a sophomore.
