Huge boys hockey game tomorrow night in Maple Grove, between two annual powers. This game features a lot of great scoring forwards. Andover is unranked and 6-0. The Huskies have four players with over 10 points. Forward Garrett Schifsky has 19 points (8 G, 11 A), Hampton Slukynsky Hampton Slukynsky 6'0" | Goalie Warroad | 2023 State MN has 17 points (2 G, 15 A), Ethan Lindahl has 15 points (7 G, 8 A), Weston Knox Weston Knox 5'9" | Defense Andover | 2022 MN has 10 points (2 G, 8 A). The Huskies have a ton of firepower at the forward position and have a pretty good goaltender. I think that their key to the game is shutting down Maple Groves’ super talented . I think that Andover has the star power to keep up with Maple Grove on offense, but they need their defense and goalie to have a huge game. Maple Grove on the other hand has five players with over ten points. Their best player and Northern Michigan commit have 21 points (8 G, 13 A), Sam Jacobs Sam Jacobs 6'0" | forward Maple Grove | 2021 MN has 14 points (11 G, 3 A), Chris Kernan has 11 points (2 G, 9 A), Henry Nelson Henry Nelson Henry Nelson 6'1" | Defense Maple Grove | 2021 MN has 10 points (2 G, 8 A), Landon Gunderson has 10 points (5 G, 5 A). They are the number one team in the state for a reason. The crimson has a lot of depth, and have one of the top players in the state to add to that. This is a team that is very much a state championship favorite. This game is a super good matchup, my prediction is that it will be pretty high scoring, but close game. My final score prediction is 5-4 Maple Grove.
