Roadwarriors: Best Road Scorers
Today I’m featuring players across the state that perform best when they are in unfamiliar territory against rivals. The following players increase their tenacity and scoring touch when their team needs them.
Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth F (Sr. Rochester Century H.S.)
L.B.H. has amassed an incredulous 17 goals of his 30 on the road and has put Century on his back. He is returning for his senior season and his goals have come against top-ranked opponents including a goal on the road at Lakeville South, and five goals in the two road trips to Bemidji.
Christian Galatz F (Sr., Cloquet-Esko-Carlton)
Galatz has a laser shot and knack for being in the right position to smack in timely rebounds. He uses his strong hockey IQ to outsmart slow-skating defenseman and put his show on the road last season notching 16 goals of his 32 away from his home rink in the Iron Range.
Zack Bruns F (Sr., Morris/Benson Area)
Bruns has left his mark on the ice with a tremendous Junior season. After gaining more trust and ice-time the last couple seasons, Bruns amassed an incredible 20 road goals last year and is poised to continue his torrid pace.
Calvin Hanson F (Sr., Kittson Central, H.S.)
Hanson has been virtually unstoppable since becoming a key part of his school’s offensive threat . He sniped 27 of his 42 goals on the road. Last season Kittson started with three road games against Ely (twice) and Mayport H.S. (ND) and Hanson scored eleven, winning all three games by a combined 27-10.
Ty Kennett F (Jr., Red Lake Falls H.S.)
Kennett potted 21 of his jaw-dropping 42 goals in last season away from home ice. He uses his ability to get under his opponents skin and behind their net to setup a barrage of shots and likes to deke out over-aggressive goalies on special teams.
